Kuwait’s shooters win medals in Arab competitions

KUWAIT: Competitions of HH the Crown Prince Annual Shooting Championship continued at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex as Kuwait shooters had notably outstanding results. In the Arab Shotgun Championship, which is being held along side HH the Crown Prince Tournament Kuwait’s Nasser Al-Miqlid took the gold medal of the trap competition, while Abdulrahman Al-Faihan also from Kuwait won the silver medal, while Oman’s Hussein Al-Shuhoumi won the bronze.

Kuwait’s national team of Nasser Al-Miqlid, Talal Al-Rashidi and Abdulrahman Al-Faihan won gold, while Oman’s Hussein Al-Shuhoumi, Buti Al-Shibly and Saud Al-Khatiri won silver, while the bronze went to Qatar’s team of Mohammad Al-Rumaihi, Rashid Al-Athba and Ali Al-Athba.

In the ladies trap event Sarah Al-Hawal from Kuwait won gold, while Bahrain’s Marwa Buarki and Marian Al-Sulaiti took second and third place. Meanwhile Bahrain’s ladies team secured the gold medal by Mariam Al-Sulaiti, Marwa Buarki and Fatima Nasrallah, while Kuwait’s team of Sarah Al-Hawal, Shahad Al-Hawal and Reem Al-Zamanan won silver while Qatar’s Maitha Al-Binali, khuloud Al-Khalaf and Amina Al-Abdullah won bronze.

As for HH the Crown Prince tournament, which was exclusively for Kuwaitis Abdulrahman Al-Faihan won gold in the trap competition, Abdulaziz Al-Daihani silver and Khalid Al-Mudhaf bronze. In the ladies competition Sarah Al-Hawal won gold, Shahad Al-Hawal silver and Reem Al-Zamanan won bronze.

In the 10 meter air pistol competition Hamad Al-Namshan won gold, Ali Al-Mutairi Silver while the bronze was won by Saad Al-Ajmi. In the women’s competition Ghazlan Ali won gold, Athari Al-Beloushi silver and Israa Bahman Bronze.

In the mixed doubles trap results

Bahrain’s team of Ali Saeed and Marwa Buarki won gold, Kuwait’s team of Abdulrahman Al-Faihan and Sarah Al-Hawal won silver, and Qatar’s Mohammad Al-Rumaihi and Khuloud Khalaf and Oman’s Hussein Al-Shuhoumi and Shamsa Al-Maliki, both team won bronze.

In the 10m air rifle competition:

Mariam Irzouqi won gold, Ritaj Al-Ziyadi won silver and Al-Jouri Mansour Al-Hashash won bronze. President of the Asian Shooting Confederation Honorable President of KSSC Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said both championships are witnessing outstanding participation by the most important Kuwait, Gulf and Arab shooters, which added to the competition’s and lauded the major achievements of Kuwait and Gulf Shooters in this major Arab gathering.

He said the success of HH the Crown Prince, and Arab Shooting Competitions, is in the large participation and distinguished scores so far. Meanwhile KSSC Secretary General Obaid Al-Osaimi said Kuwait’s shooters winning (6) medals in the Arab competition, along with having record numbers is a notable achievement and a continutation for Kuwait’s shooters outstanding performance.

A-Osaimi thanked HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for his patronage of the tournament and hoped for Kuwait to win more medals in the remaining competitions.
