Kuwait occupies an advanced position in otolaryngology field

KUWAIT: Head of the Otorhinolaryngology Department at the Ministry of Health and head of the Otorhinolaryngology Department at Zain Center, Dr Mutlaq Al-Saihan, said that Kuwait occupies an advanced position in the field of otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery due to its distinguished medical and scientific competencies. Al-Saihan told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday that the Ministry of Health has provided the latest medical devices for diagnosis and surgical operations for medical cases that require advanced surgical interventions.

He stated that the total number of visitors to the otorhinolaryngology clinics affiliated with Zain Hospital in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, Amiri Hospital, Al-Saqr Specialized Clinics, Salmiya, Yarmouk, Sabah Al-Salem, and Salwa Hospitals this year amounted to 33,000 visitors. He indicated that Zain Center for Otorhinolaryngology received about 42,000 visitors this year, including 10,130 patients in the evening clinics, while the total number of admissions to the hospital amounted to 4,126 cases.

He pointed out that the Zain Center for Ear, Nose, and Throat received 19 visiting doctors throughout the year in various specialties, and they performed 119 major operations. About 4,120 surgical operations were performed at the Zain Center, including 820 major operations, 2,950 medium operations, and 350 minor operations. — KUNA
