KUWAIT: The Arab Shooting Federation’s General Assembly re-elected Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi as president for the next four years. It also elected Secretary General of KSSF Obaid Munahi Al-Osaimi as Secretary General for four years. The Assembly also elected members of the executive committee during the meeting that was held at Sheilkh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. Other elected members are Egypt’s Hazem Hosni (first vice president) and Moroccan Dr Abdulazim Al-Hafi (vice president); members include Qatar’s Abdullah Al-Hammadi, UAE’s Hassan bin Hadiya, Saudi Arabia’s Ahmad Al-Sharani, Iraq’s Sabeeh Kazim, Jordan’s Nizar Madhi, and Sudan’s Muhannad Ahmad. Palestine’s Maen Barakat was also selected as an appointed member.
Duaj Al-Otaibi thanked members of the General Assembly of the ASF for renewing their confidence in Kuwait and re-electing him as president. He said they will continue to develop the Arab shooting sport through organizing various championships for men and women, in addition to supporting Arab shooters in their international participations. He said the federation also has plans to develop its referees and technical and administrative departments through training courses on a periodic basis. Al-Otaibi appreciated the support of the country’s political leadership for the sports and the athletes.
Meanwhile, competitions at HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Championship continue on Sunday as the trap competition for men and women begins at 8:30 am, while pistols and rifles will kick off by 9:00. Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Pistol and Rifle at KSSC Abdullah Barakat said the ranges of the 10 meter pistol and rifle, 25 meter rapid pistol, and 50 meter rifle are all ready to welcome the participating shooters. The ranges are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The competitions will be officiated by international, highly experienced referees.
