KUWAIT: The ministry of health is preparing to open a new addiction rehabilitation center in the coming weeks with a capacity of 208 residents. Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi toured the building Thursday accompanied by the Ministry’s Undersecretary Dr Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and other officials from the ministry of health.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure the center’s compliance with all required health ministry specifications. The center is a "key component” of the ministry’s strategy to support individuals seeking treatment and recovery from addiction, enhancing Kuwait’s capacity to provide specialized healthcare services in this field.

The new building consists of five floors, housing a variety of health and psychological facilities designed to provide comprehensive services to patients. The center can accommodate up to 208 residents, allowing for the provision of necessary care and support to a larger number of cases. It also includes parking spaces with a capacity for approximately 100 cars, making it easier for visitors, patients, and their families to access the facility, ensuring a comfortable experience.

Minister Al-Awadhi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the engineering and health teams in preparing the center, stressing the importance of completing the project according to the highest global standards. He added that the Ministry of Health is committed to providing all necessary resources to support individuals in their recovery from addiction, as part of its vision to improve the quality of life for citizens and protect society from the dangers of drugs.
