KUWAIT: Experts and educators are calling for rethinking the educational system in the GCC, including the system’s goals and the content and delivery methods of materials. Participants in the fourth International Educational Conference, which was held in Kuwait and ended Wednesday, emphasized the need for transforming education in Gulf countries, including restructuring the teaching profession.

The two-day conference was attended by undersecretaries of the ministries of education in the Gulf states, education leaders in the member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations such as the International Education Bureau of UNESCO. It was organized by the bureau under the patronage of Kuwait’s Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaei.

In the final recommendations issued at the conclusion of the conference, participants called for ensuring adequate and efficient funding for the education sector to improve educational outcomes.

The participants urged education ministries to take coordinated and integrated measures to support teachers and empower them to lead the transformation of education. The aim is to ensure that teachers acquire the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for sustainable development. The recommendations also stressed the importance of achieving digital transformation in education to support educational goals.
