Kuwaiti teams excel at Best Cyber Warrior competition

KUWAIT: Kuwaiti teams excelled at 10th edition of the Best Cyber Warrior competition, organized by the Kuwait Army in collaboration with the US Central Command. According to KUNA, the Army’s Cyber Operations Directorate won first place, a team representing Kuwait’s oil sector placed second, and another from National Cyber Security Center came in third.

The event featured participation from military and civilian teams from Kuwait and allied countries. The competition witnessed intense rivalry among participating teams as they tackled various challenges related to cyber intrusions, network protection, and cyber missions, according to Kuwait’s defense ministry. Participants demonstrated high levels of skill in addressing cyber threats and breaches.

The event included challenges designed to enhance the participants’ cyber readiness and test their abilities to handle diverse offensive and defensive scenarios. Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah honored the winning teams, presenting awards and commemorative plaques. He praised the efforts of all participants, emphasizing the importance of such competitions in raising efficiency and readiness levels while fostering collaboration between the Kuwaiti armed forces and their counterparts, as well as civilian institutions from allied nations.

He reiterated that cyber security has become a fundamental pillar in safeguarding national security and urged everyone to continue developing their skills and enhancing cyber awareness. The closing ceremony was also attended by the Head of the National Cyber Security Center Retired Major General Mohammad Boarki, US Ambassador to Kuwait Karen Sasahara, and representatives from participating entities. — KUNA
