KUWAIT: The College of Engineering at the Australian University (AU) achieved a remarkable success by winning three awards during their participation in the 15th Technological Innovation Conference and Exhibition (TICE) and the 8th Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA). The event, held under the patronage of Sheikh Malik Al-Jaber Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Head of Sustainable Development Initiatives, highlighted AU’s impactful contributions. The College of Engineering presented three research projects for the Engineering Excellence Awards, delivered one presentation, nominated two students for the Emerging Engineer of the Year award, and exhibited graduation projects by two student groups.

Dr Suad Al-Radhwan, a faculty member at AU, played a pivotal role as chairperson of the organizing committee. AU’s achievements included securing two Gold Awards and one Silver Award. The first Gold Award in the “Engineering Research – Optimization” category was awarded to a project supervised by Dr Suad Al-Radhwan, with contributions from students Abdulaziz Al-Fendi, Ali Al-Ramzi, Mohammad Al-Azmi, and Fahad Al-Owais participating.

The second Gold Award in the “Engineering Research – Data Management” category, was awarded to a project supervised by Dr Rida Elgaddafi and co-supervised by Eng Kingsley Amadi, with students Ahmad Dashti, Mohammad Al Jawad Al Ali, and Mubarak Al Abdullah.

The Silver Award in the “Engineering Research – Optimization” category, was granted to a project supervised by Dr Mortadha Alsaba and co-supervised by Eng Asama Hussain, with contributions from students Esraa Hasan, Janan Kassim, Fotoun Al-Atwan, Kawthar Mirza and Kawthar Mohammed contributing. In addition, two Petroleum Engineering students, Tesnim Bouhanna and Mohammad Al Jawad Al-Ali, were recognized as Emerging Engineers of the Year.
