Educational challenges require innovative solutions: Minister

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s education minister called Monday for collective efforts to address current educational challenges faced by the country. At an educational conference organized by the Kuwait Teachers Association, Minister Nader Al-Jallal said he hopes the conference will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and insights among experts and specialists, which is essential for finding innovative solutions and establishing a leading educational system befitting Kuwait’s regional and international standing.

“The conference accurately reflects the challenges we face, which require innovative and practical solutions, as well as our aspirations for the future, which necessitate well-thought-out plans to meet the needs of the times and enhance the capabilities of both students and teachers,” he said.

He said this can be achieved by reliance on scientific research, innovation, and modern technology, alongside a clear vision based on strong partnerships between government and private sectors, academic institutions, and civil society. This approach ensures the provision of quality education and a learning environment that fosters creativity and encourages innovation while keeping pace with global changes.

Hamad Al-Houli, President of the Kuwait Teachers Association, expressed hope that the conference will help outline a clear and comprehensive roadmap to identify current challenges and define practical steps necessary for reforming education. He pointed out that teachers put great efforts to raise the quality of educational outputs, ensuring that graduates are capable of fulfilling their national, professional, and social responsibilities while looking ahead to the future and working diligently for the benefit of their beloved country.

Minister Al-Jallal emphasized in his speech the significant attention that Kuwait’s political leadership dedicates to the education sector and its continuous development. He said he believes that education is the cornerstone for national development and a vital element in the progress of nations and the foundation for building future generations.

He noted that the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah underscores the commitment to supporting efforts aimed at improving the educational system and recognizing the crucial role of teachers in shaping the nation’s future. He praised the significant role of the Kuwait Teachers Association in organizing this conference, reflecting its ongoing commitment to exploring educational issues and proposing solutions for enhancing the educational framework.

Houli said His Highness the Amir’s patronage of the conference is a source of honor and pride for those in the educational field as it reflects his deep concern for the status of teachers and the creation of a conducive and stable environment for them to fulfill their mission effectively.

Houli highlighted the commitment to intensifying efforts and following His Highness’s directives to enhance education and achieve a comprehensive educational vision that instills good values within a modern and integrated framework. This aligns with the plans and strategies for reforming and developing all aspects of the educational process.

The conference features 14 lectures and 12 workshops over three days, discussing various topics, including modern perspectives on teaching strategies, global trends in education development, sustainable education in light of Kuwait Vision 2035, e-learning environments, and concepts and applications of digital technology. — KUNA
