Lycée Français de Koweït press club visit Kuwait Times, Kuwait News

KUWAIT: Kuwait Times and Kuwait News welcomed a group of Grade 11 and 12 students from Lycée Français de Koweït school’s press club, offering them an exclusive, firsthand experience into the world of journalism, to learn more about the history of the newspaper as it the first English daily in the Arabian Gulf since 1961. The students were taken on a tour around the different sections of the newspaper, such as the editorial, studio, print, and circulation departments. Kuwait Times’ team provided them with valuable insights into the process of news gathering, reporting, editing, and publishing for a deeper understanding of the media industry.

Digital creator Yousef Abu Ghazaleh took students on a journey through Kuwait’s history in the Kuwait Times archive room. Abu Ghazaleh transported the students back in time, unraveling significant moments and events that have shaped Kuwait’s narrative. Thereafter, the Head of the printing department, engineer Al-Watheq Bellah Darwish, took the students on a tour of the printing press. He showed them the printing process and how Kuwait Times’ staff runs and maintains the presses, image scanners, and other printing machines.

At the end of the visit, students played a fun game with Content Creators Dhoha Al-Issa and Zainab Dashti at Kuwait Times’ studio, while enlightening them about Kuwait Times’ endeavors to adapt to the rapidly evolving social media landscape. They shed light on the newspaper’s efforts to leverage visual storytelling techniques and engage with audiences across digital platforms, underscoring the importance of agility and innovation in the ever-changing media landscape. Students later were engaged in a real experience where they asked the Kuwait Times’ team to be interviewed by them.
