MANAMA: Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa praised on Wednesday His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s role in developing Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations, and his efforts in supporting joint Gulf and Arab action.
This came during King Hamad’s reception of the Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, who is on a visit to Bahrain. The King welcomed Sheikh Fahad at Al-Sakhir Palace, and entrusted him to convey his well wishes of good health to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, wishing Kuwait’s people further progress and prosperity.
He expressed his pride in the depth of the historical relations between the two countries, and stressed the importance of coordination between them in what serves their mutual interests, especially during the current circumstances and challenges facing the region. Sheikh Fahad conveyed to King Hamad the greetings of His Highness the Amir and his good wishes for Bahrain and its people for further progress and prosperity. Sheikh Fahad also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the King of Bahrain for the generous hospitality and warm reception.
Crown Prince of Bahrain and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa also expressed his appreciation of the Kuwaiti leadership’s role in strengthening cooperation and the bilateral ties. The Bahraini Crown Prince stressed the importance of mutual visits between officials from Kuwait and Bahrain. During a meeting, Prince Salman Al-Khalifa and Sheikh Fahad reviewed the Bahraini-Kuwaiti partnership, emphasizing the continuous progress it’s witnessing and the consolidation of the historical ties between Kuwait and Bahrain.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of both countries and ways to enhance the process of joint Gulf action, as well as the overall developments on the regional and international arenas. Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf also met with Bahraini Interior Minister Sheikh Rashed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifia, where they discussed ways to bolster cooperation. Sheikh Fahad stressed the importance of boosting cooperation to face any security challenges and crimes in the region.
Sheikh Fahad held a meeting with Bahraini Defense Force Commander-in-Chief and Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. The two discussed ways of enhancing military collaboration between Kuwait and Bahrain to advance the Guld region. They also agreed on the importance of the countries’ militaries working together to exchange expertise and maintain peace in both Kuwait and Bahrain. The meeting touched on overall regional and international developments, as well as the challenges both countries face and the views on them. The First Deputy PM arrived in Bahrain Wednesday on an official visit to Bahrain, where he was received by Bahraini officials at Bahrain’s International Airport. — KUNA
