Training program on catheterization, first of its kind in Kuwait

KUWAIT: Aortic Replacement Academy hosted a training program on catheterization, which was held for the first time in Kuwait and out of Europe. The program is aimed at training cardiologists and consultants from the Middle East and Europe. The program included 5 aortic valve replacement procedures, three of which were held in the chest hospital at Al-Dabous Heart Center (Adan Hospital).

Head of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit Dr Khalid Al-Merri, head of the Heart Department at the Chest Hospital Dr Abdullah Al-Enezi, head of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Salman Al-Dabbous Heart Center of Adan Hospital Dr Ahmad Al-Shatti and consultant in cardiology and interventional catheterization, Dr Abdullah Ismail, participated in the program.

The participants discussed all technical aspects of this type of procedure and the best approach, as well as steps that guarantee excellent results. Participants lauded Kuwaiti doctors, adding that Kuwait’s hosting of this training program strengthens its position as a destination for advanced medical training in the region. Such quality procedures enhance the level of medical services provided to patients.
