International Forum discusses cybersecurity, empowering women

RIYADH: The International Cybersecurity Forum, held in Riyadh, is an opportunity to exchange ideas and expertise and enhance global cybersecurity, said Head of Kuwait’s National Cybersecurity Center Mohammad Buarki, on Thursday. Participation in the fourth edition of the International Cybersecurity Forum is an opportunity to “converge views and exchange global expertise, especially since the forum is witnessing the participation of global elites in this field,” Buarki told KUNA.

The forum came with two initiatives this year, the first of which is the initiative to protect children in cyberspace and the other to empower women through cybersecurity, he added, stressing the great importance of these two initiatives in light of the expansion of cyberspace. Buarki said that ways to protect children in cyberspace and fill the need for human resources in this field were discussed.

We showed in a dialogue session the Kuwaiti point of view on protecting countries’ “infrastructure and risks and addressing them in the field of cybersecurity,” he added. He pointed out that the Kuwaiti participation comes to highlight the role of the State of Kuwait and the interest of the Kuwaiti leadership in cybersecurity and all that it includes, starting from protecting infrastructure to protecting educational curricula, training, and capacity building. He expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the generous invitation and the good hospitality that all participants in this forum received. — KUNA
