Registration ongoing for Kuwait’s 27th Quran memorization contest

KUWAIT: The Public Awqaf Foundation launched on Tuesday the 27th edition of the Kuwait’s Quran Memorization and Tajweed Grand Competition under the esteemed patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The competition aims to promote the memorization and recitation of the Quran and encourage people to engage with the Islam’s holy book. Since its inception, the competition has seen 4,185 winners from 43,686 participants, Acting Secretary-General of the Public Awqaf Foundation Nasser Al-Hamad told KUNA on Tuesday. The foundation aims to encourage participation from all age groups in the competition, which includes categories for individuals with special needs, inmates, and care home residents. The competition is open only for Kuwaitis.

Registration for Kuwait’s Quran Memorization and Tajweed Grand Competition began on September 29 and will continue until October 31. The final phase of the competition is scheduled to start on November 24 at the Grand Mosque, lasting for two weeks, with the first week designated for men and the second for women. The authority will be available to answer inquiries at the media booth in Assima mall and 360 mall during the registration period, providing information on the competition and participation procedures.
