KUWAIT: Kuwait Heart Foundation is celebrating World Heart Day, which occurs on September 29 each year, in cooperation with Sabah Al-Ahmad Heart Center. The celebrations will continue until October 26th. Medics will carry out sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol tests at Kuwait Market for three days until October 1st (from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm). Other activities will be at The Avenues mall from October 17, 18, and 19th (3:00 pm until 8:00 pm); Mall 360 events on 24-26th (from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm). The event is aimed at increasing awareness of heart problems and strengthening joint efforts in order to fight the spread of heart and vessel diseases.

Kuwait Heart Foundation (KHF) Secretary General Dr Rashed Al-Owayesh said the celebration of World Heart Day (WHD) is to remind of the dangers of heart diseases, which are considered the killer No 1 in the world and in Kuwait, and also a reminder for all to undergo periodical tests to avoid such dangerous diseases. Dr Al-Owayesh said KHF pays great attention to scientific research and encourages specialists to join scientific meetings and conferences. The society carried out a study spanning from May 15th, 2023 until August 2024. According to the result, a total number of attacks recorded was 7,600–6,239 (men), while there were 1,363 were women.
