Over the past 63 years, Kuwait Times has evolved remarkably, later synergizing with its sister company, Kuwait News, to create a formidable media hub. This collaboration has enabled both entities to combine their strengths, delivering comprehensive and accurate reports on local, regional and international events.

"Kuwait Times and Kuwait News share the same vision and mission," stated Kuwait Times Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Kuwait News Editor-in-Chief Abdullah Boftain. "We have developed a working strategy that enhances efficiency and productivity for both media companies. By leveraging cross-selling, we’ve expanded our coverage to reach a broader audience, including younger generations, Kuwaitis and expatriates."

He further emphasized that this partnership has led to the formation of an integrated modern media group that attracts talented bilingual creatives, journalists and media personalities. The result is a dynamic platform capable of producing high-quality content across multiple formats.

In their efforts to unify the two media companies, Boftain explained how they combine different perspectives, sources and facts to create exceptional podcasts, videos and news reports. "We meticulously verify the accuracy of statistics, names and other details to present comprehensive, accurate and balanced reports," he said. This attention to detail ensures that their audience receives reliable information.

'Fedha'', a virtual news presenter generated using artificial intelligence by Kuwait News.

Innovation through artificial intelligence

One of the most groundbreaking initiatives from this collaboration was the introduction of Fedha, an AI-generated news presenter by Kuwait News. Fedha, depicted as a woman with light-colored hair wearing a black jacket and white T-shirt, made her debut in Arabic last year, garnering global attention. "I am Fedha, the first presenter in Kuwait who works with artificial intelligence at Kuwait News. What kind of news do you prefer? Let’s hear your opinions," she announced, captivating audiences worldwide.

"We were experimenting with various trends and decided to launch a virtual news presenter using artificial intelligence. Fedha made her debut on the Kuwait News X account. Her introduction wasn’t just a showcase of our technological prowess; it elevated Kuwait’s presence on the global stage. Major media outlets like CNN and BBC reported on her debut, providing Kuwait with a significant amount of free publicity and marketing," Boftain elaborated.

Formation of a media conglomerate

Founded by Yousuf Saleh Alyan in 1961, Kuwait Times has grown into a trusted source for in-depth reports on local events, business news and analyses of regional and international issues. It also offers entertainment, sports news and features. In 2024, Kuwait Times further expanded its reach by launching the Kuwait Times archive, a dedicated platform that provides access to historical content from its bound archives.

Established in 2006 as one of Kuwait's first electronic newspapers, Kuwait News has developed into an integrated digital news service. Licensed by the ministry of information, it offers the latest developments on its official website and verified accounts on social networking sites such as X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Telegram.

The combination of Kuwait Times and Kuwait News has resulted in the emergence of a powerful media conglomerate. This merger allows them to reach a wider audience, capitalize on cross-promotion opportunities, and ultimately achieve increased profitability and growth. Together, Kuwait Times and Kuwait News have created a modern media powerhouse that continues to lead the way in delivering accurate, balanced and comprehensive news to the people of Kuwait and beyond.
