63 years of truth and social media innovation

As I reflect on Kuwait Times’ incredible 63-year journey, I feel a deep sense of pride and honor to be part of this evolving institution. For decades, Kuwait Times has held the prestigious title of being the number one English newspaper in Kuwait, catering to both expats and Kuwaitis who find comfort in English-language news. However, the leap Kuwait Times has taken in recent years has been nothing short of extraordinary — becoming the top English social media platform in Kuwait within approximately five years.

It’s incredible to witness how quickly Kuwait Times adapted to meet the needs of a new era, especially reaching Generation Z, a group known for their digital fluency and their desire for creative content. By studying their preferences, as well as the needs of expats and Kuwaitis alike, we transformed our social media presence into more than just a news outlet — we became a reliable source of truth, a platform that resonates with the community.

In my opinion, change is inevitable; it’s the fundamental core of the universe. Nothing stays the same, and that’s what makes this journey so exciting. At Kuwait Times, we’ve not only embraced change but have also thrived on it. We’ve harnessed the power of technology and social media to reach more people, to spread awareness and ensure that our content remains relevant, timely and truthful.

I’m particularly proud of how our social media platforms have become trusted sources for delivering facts, especially during critical moments, such as the recent events in Gaza. In a world where misinformation and fake news spread like wildfire, we’ve taken on the responsibility of being a beacon of truth, using our platform to fight injustice and amplify the voices that need to be heard.

As a journalist and content creator at Kuwait Times, I am grateful for the opportunity to play a part in this mission. It’s not just about news — it’s about being a tool for change, a voice for the voiceless and a platform that stands for justice. The work Kuwait Times’ social media platforms to shed light on the situation in Palestine, and ensuring that the truth about what happened — and continues to happen — in Gaza is known, fills me with immense pride. Media, at its best, is a force for good, and I’m so thankful to be part of a team that values integrity, truth and justice.

On this special anniversary, I’m so grateful to Kuwait Times for allowing me to fight injustice in my own way, giving me a space to create videos, supporting my vision and being part of this collective journey toward progress. Here’s to 63 years of excellence — and to many more years of truth, justice and evolution.
