Ministry launches new hall for visitors

KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah inaugurated on Wednesday a new hall for visitors at the Public Authority for the Disabled in the West Abdullah Mubarak area as part of efforts to facilitate services provided to this category and their families. Minister Al-Huwailah said in a press statement on the occasion that the opening of the halls for visitors in various areas of the country comes as part of the Authority’s keenness to provide integrated and fast services to enhance transactions for people with disabilities.

She stressed the Ministry’s commitment to monitoring all challenges facing people with disabilities and working to find effective solutions in cooperation with the concerned authorities, indicating the importance of listening to the suggestions of people with disabilities and their families and developing the services provided to them in accordance with the applicable laws and legislation. She stated that the new hall includes five counters staffed by comprehensive employees, making it the 5th hall opened by the Authority, in addition to other halls at the Authority’s headquarters in Hawally, Jahra (Kuwait Mall), Sabah Al-Ahmad (Kuwait Mall), and Granada (Deaf Club).

On her part, the Director of the Authority, Wafaa Al-Muhanna, confirmed in a similar statement that the opening of more branches, distributed across the various governorates of the country, aims to facilitate the completion of transactions for people with disabilities and their families. Al-Muhanna indicated that the services provided include opening files for the first time, renewing a disability certificate, issuing a disability ID, applying for a traffic plate, and updating data, in addition to the electronic services available through the Authority’s website and the Sahel application. — KUNA
