AMMAN: Kuwait’s youth handball team qualified for the World Championship after defeating Japan 27-23 in the semifinals of the 10th Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship on Wednesday in Amman. This marks the fourth occasion the competition is hosted by the Jordan Handball Federation (JHF), having previously hosted it in 2008, 2014 and 2018.

The championship serves as a qualifying event for the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship in Slovenia, scheduled for July/August 2025. The top five teams from this competition will secure qualification spots for the World Championship. South Korea are the defending champions, having clinched the title three times in 2005, 2014 and 2022.
