KUWAIT: The Ministry of Information and the National Cybersecurity Center signed on Tuesday a cooperation agreement in the field of cybersecurity, training, and media cooperation. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Dr Nasser Muhaisen told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the signing that the agreement comes under the directives of Minister of Information Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and in implementation of the Ministry’s strategy to create a strategic partnership with state institutions.

Muhaisen stressed that this joint cooperation will be reflected in developing the work mechanism, especially in the technical aspect, servers and technical receivers for Kuwait TV studios, which will have an impact on developing the mechanism at the Ministry. He added that through this agreement, the National Cybersecurity Center will provide a set of services to the Ministry of Information, including continuous technical support during different periods of media work as well as periodic inspection of digital devices and servers in radio, television, and news studios.

Muhaisen also explained that these services include providing global regulations and systems for computer systems and digital servers for the Ministry, noting that the Center will also provide training courses and workshops to upgrade national cadres and enhance the culture of cybersecurity for workers in the media. He stated that the Ministry of Information will work in turn to enhance community awareness of cybersecurity through radio and television programs. ­— KUNA
