LONDON: Kuwait Cultural Week kicked off on Tuesday in the United Kingdom under the patronage of HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The event is part of the “Year of the Kuwaiti-British Partnership” celebrations, marking the 125th anniversary of the Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement of 1899. The week features cultural and craft exhibitions and a musical concert highlighting the historical ties between the two nations.

Key events include the “Kuwaiti-British Relations in Travelers’ Books, Historical Documents and Photographs” exhibition, organized by the Kuwait Heritage Society in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL). Additionally, the “Bait Al-Sha’ar: A Mobile Cultural Space” event, organized by Kuwait Al-Sadu Society, highlights traditional Bedouin crafts such as Sadu weaving.

The exhibitions, held at the Kuwaiti Embassy in London, have been attended by diplomats and officials, including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and British Ambassador to Kuwait Belinda Lewis.
