KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan said that the new airport project (T2) confirms the commitment to developing the civil aviation sector and its vital role in supporting the country’s economic growth, keenness to complete work - and projects, and belief that hard work serves the interests of the country and citizens.

Al-Mashaan told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday during a periodic meeting with government agencies involved in the project that the T2 is one of the ambitious national projects to develop and modernize the country’s infrastructure in a way that serves the vision ‘New Kuwait 2035’ and transform the country into a regional, global financial and commercial center that attracts investments.

It was unanimously agreed on the need to expedite the project within the specified dates and within the contract’s timetable. She stressed the government’s keenness to harness all capabilities and facilities to complete the airport project according to the scheduled timetable, noting that interest in developing the infrastructure of the air transport sector in the country is a top priority.

She explained that the Ministry of Public Works "is working and cooperating intensively to ensure the completion of the new passenger building T2, which contributes significantly to improving the passenger experience and expanding our capabilities to accommodate the expected increase in air traffic”. Minister Al-Mashaan stressed the need for coordination to resolve pending issues and the need for cooperation and overcoming all obstacles to complete the project on time.

The meeting also discussed the Civil Aviation letter No 10261/7 and the latest developments from the Civil Aviation regarding telecommunications companies and the latest developments from this department. The meeting also discussed the roads leading to Kuwait International Airport, stressing the need to pay attention to potential obstacles that passengers may face upon arriving at the airport. — KUNA
