Ahmadi governor visits to Shaddadiya Industrial Area project site

KUWAIT: Ahmadi governor Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed on Thursday the need to overcome all obstacles facing the Shaddadiya Industrial City project and work on finding effective solutions to speed up the pace of work and complete the project. This came in a statement by the Ahmadi governor during his visit to the Shaddadiya Industrial Area project site to follow up on the progress of work in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, the Public Authority for Industry, and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport.

Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah said that Shaddadiya Industrial City is a vital project within the New Kuwait 2035 vision, which enjoys great interest and direct follow-up from the political leadership, noting that the high directives were clear and precise on many occasions in setting priorities, unifying efforts, and harnessing energies according to a specific work plan and timetable for all development projects in the country. He appreciated the role of the existing government agencies, their cooperation, and their keenness to overcome all obstacles facing the industrial edifice that supports the Kuwaiti economy in the implementation of the vision New Kuwait 2035, expressing his hope for its opening soon.

For his part, the Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Industry, Shamlan Al-Jahedli, announced in a press statement that the percentage of completion achieved has exceeded 95 percent, adding that the project is scheduled to see the light in the last quarter of this year. Al-Jahedli expects the project to be delivered after extending the electricity supply in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and linking some main roads to the project in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works during the current fiscal year.

The Shaddadiya project is one of the first integrated industrial cities in Kuwait, equipped with the latest technologies on an area estimated at more than 5 square kilometers, including about 1,036 industrial plots. The project contributes to providing the necessary infrastructure to prepare the business environment in Kuwait, which helps in driving the wheel of industrial development and increasing the contribution of non-oil manufacturing industries to the gross domestic product and creating productive and suitable job opportunities for the national workforce. — KUNA
