KUWAIT: Kuwait is on schedule for a new start of the seasons with the entry of the Suhail season on August 24, which extends for 52 days, the Ojeiri Scientific Center said on Tuesday. The Center added in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Suhail is one of the first seasons of the solar year among the Arab world, indicating that during this season the temperature of the sun decreases. He pointed out that the Suhail season is characterized by the appearance of some leafy plants in addition to the length of the shade and dew in the morning, as the water and air cool slightly and the sun tends towards the south after being almost vertical in summer.

He mentioned that during Suhail, the angle of incidence of the sun rays decreases, the day begins to shorten gradually, and the sun begins to tilt towards the south. He continued that in the first star, the hot summer season ends; in the second star, the temperatures reduce and the autumn season begins. Thirdly, it is expected to rain. The Center reported that Suhail’s star can be seen in the sky of Kuwait starting from September 4, where a group of Kuwaiti astronomers documented seeing it at dawn at this time of year, while the length of the day decreases and the night increases, pointing out that during this season shrimp and fish increase.

Weekend forecasted

Meanwhile, the weather during the weekend will be generally hot and humid during the day and hot-to-hot and humid at night with a chance of light fog, the Meteorological Department said Director of the Department Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi. The weather maps indicate that the country will be affected by an extension of the Indian seasonal depression accompanied by a hot and humid air mass with light-to-moderate northwesterly to southeasterly winds.

Al-Qarawi explained that the weather on Friday will be hot and humid, with variable winds, moderate in speed, between 8 and 30 km/h, and the expected maximum temperature will be between 45 and 47 degrees. Some scattered clouds will appear, and the sea will be light-to-moderate with waves between 1 and 3 feet. On Saturday, Al-Qarawi said that there will also be hot and humid weather, especially in coastal areas, with variable winds between 8 and 32 km/h, and the expected maximum temperature will be between 45 and 48 degrees Celsius.
