GCC’s justice ministries discuss judicial matters, discrimination, crimes

DOHA: The Ministry of Justice of Kuwait participated on Monday in the fourth and fifth meetings of the committee of officials of the departments of international cooperation and international relations of the ministries of justice of the GCC countries in the Qatari capital. The Ministry of Justice said in a statement on the social networking platform (X) that the meeting (scheduled from August 19 to 22) will discuss common legal and justice topics within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council in preparation for submitting them to meetings of undersecretaries of Justice ministries and then the meeting of Justice ministers scheduled in October.

The meeting will also discuss the draft development of the agreement on the execution of sentences and judicial declarations in both GCC countries. Participants will talk about the agreement on the extradition of accused and sentenced persons between the GCC states and the unified rules of the GCC states to combat discrimination, hate speech, and juvenile crimes. The Ministry of Justice is participating in the two meetings with an official delegation headed by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Legal Affairs. — KUNA
