KUWAIT: We often find many workshops encouraging children to develop their skills and discover new or perhaps hidden hobbies. However, adults are frequently overlooked. It is usually assumed that they have already found their path in life and their situation is settled. But this is not often the case; many adults suffer from feeling lost and not knowing their goals or hobbies, leading them to experience a sense of boredom or frustration.
Therefore, Lulwa Al-Saddoun, one of the individuals who discovered one of the adult workshop groups in Kuwait, spoke about the necessity of giving adults space for activities that have a significant and effective impact on their life paths. Al-Saddoun explained to Kuwait Times: “This age group was targeted due to the significant need and the lack of focus on it. Since we belong to the same generation, we shared the needs with the people of our generation.
There is diverse expertise in fields such as business administration, public relations, media, and financial accounting that adults would love to discover. Thus, we utilize skills and specializations to organize and coordinate such programs and events.” She also highlighted that the best methods are to focus on needs and diversity rather than concentrating on just one aspect. For instance, programs based on value diversity, where the spiritual, social, psychological, and recreational aspects are emphasized.
“We always ensure to consult specialists when creating any content. Keeping up with generational changes, renewal, seeking the best services, and ensuring quality are fundamental principles for our team. The impact of purposeful recreational and educational activities is significant in building relationships and developing personalities,” Al-Saddoun elaborated. She also shared successful examples that she has witnessed through the workshops: “Many adults lack skills in creating relationships or personal and skill development.”
With their commitment to these activities and continued participation in such meetings and gatherings, we have witnessed substantial development in their personalities, and some of them are now our outstanding volunteers. ”This emphasizes the need to start providing more workshops for adults, as they have a significant impact on their lives just as they do for children, since the importance is equal for both groups.”
