KUWAIT: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced Tuesday the departure of the third relief plane from the Kuwaiti airlift to Port Sudan Airport carrying 10 tons of food supplies to support and relieve the displaced people inside Sudan due to rains, floods, and ongoing conflicts there. The Society’s Director General Abdulrahman Al-Aoun told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this aid comes in response to the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and is within the framework of Kuwait’s support for the Sudanese people and its full support in facing the difficult circumstances they are experiencing.

The Kuwaiti airlift is carrying food and medical supplies in addition to other materials. He explained that what Sudanese people are going through requires immediate intervention from humanitarian organizations to provide relief, stressing that the KRCS has undertaken many initiatives and efforts to support the affected people. He stated that Kuwait has always supported humanitarian work, generously contributed, and responded immediately to provide relief to victims of humanitarian crises and disasters, hoping that this aid would contribute to alleviating the suffering of the people.

He stressed the continuation of relief flights to Sudan in direct coordination with Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Air Force, and the Sudanese Red Crescent, expressing his thanks and appreciation to Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense for providing aircraft and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their contribution to the success of the humanitarian mission. — KUNA
