ShareKUWAIT: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Tuesday the implementation of a project to provide clean drinking water in the central and southern Gaza Strip for the displaced in shelters. The society’s secretary general, Maha Al-Barjas, told KUNA that Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip destroyed hundreds of water and sanitation facilities and caused significant damage to water supply warehouses, noting that it poses a real threat to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
She added that the project aims to contribute to providing potable water to the displaced families in shelters and those living in tents in the southern Gaza Strip and in Khan Younis governorate. She explained that the water project has benefited more than 30,000 people in the 19 Khan Younis camps under the supervision and follow-up of the Cooperation Foundation in the Gaza Strip.
She pointed out that the destruction witnessed in the Gaza Strip is “catastrophic,” as the people of the Strip live a difficult life and lack food, water, and medicine, stressing the importance of international interventions to provide them with relief and a decent life. The Zionist aggression caused an indescribable humanitarian and health disaster and led to the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases without providing the necessary medical capabilities to treat them, noting that the project contributes to providing clean drinking water for displaced families and those in shelters.
Al-Barjas stressed the importance of introducing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and increasing it to ensure the provision of basic materials such as food, water, and health care. She expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the private sector and citizen donors who continued their generous support for humanitarian and development projects in Palestine, appreciating their great sympathy with the victims of the aggression in the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian territories. — KUNA
