Manpower organizes event to mark World Humanitarian Day

KUWAIT: The Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) organized a special event in celebration of World Humanitarian Day in coordination with the Permanent Coordinating Committee concerned with linking the Public Authority of Manpower with civil society organizations and public benefit associations. The event was held at the Expatriate Workers Shelter Center on Monday, August 19, 2024, in cooperation with the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, and the Patients Aid Fund Society.

The Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, the official spokesperson for the Public Authority of Manpower, and the head of the Permanent Coordinating Committee, Aseel Al-Mazyad, stated that the Public Authority of Manpower is always keen to organize such events for the inmates at the Center on this occasion and in partnership with public benefit associations in order to enhance the services provided to female inmates, stressing the great humanitarian role played by Kuwait at local and international levels.

She stated that workers within Kuwait are appreciated and respected, noting their pivotal role in advancing economic progress. Al-Mazyad stressed the importance of celebrating this occasion at the Expatriate Workers Shelter as it reflects the dimensions of distinguished humanitarian work. PAM organized recreational activities, providing symbolic gifts to female inmates, in addition to a workshop on first aid, presented by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

She pointed to the commitment of the Public Authority of Manpower to develop the center and to provide all necessary services to female inmates, praising the continuous efforts of the associations. At the end of the celebration, a group of inmates expressed their gratitude for the various services provided by the authority through the Expatriate Workers Shelter Center. They emphasized the positive impact of this event on their daily lives, which enhances the values of humanity and the act of giving.
