KUWAIT: Al-Saad Foundation for Knowledge and Scientific Research announced the renewal of official relations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an official partner until 2029, “reflecting the Foundation’s continued commitment to promoting education and culture at the global level.”
Chairperson of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, said in a press statement on Sunday that the renewal of these relations stems from the Al-Saad Foundation’s continued commitment to promoting education, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, which lie at the heart of UNESCO’s mission on education and natural sciences.
Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad explained that this partnership reflects the Foundation’s firm commitment to supporting the goals and values represented by UNESCO to achieve the global sustainable development goals for the year 2030, specifically the goals and objectives of education and enhancing international cooperation, especially amid the current conditions and challenges facing the world.
She added that the foundation, which started in Kuwait and went global, is a civil sector that complements the role of various entities responsible for supporting the concept of sustainable development to serve the Kuwaiti society by enhancing the responsibility of participation, seeking global partnership, raising the efficiency of local cadres, and meeting national needs.
She pointed out the Foundation’s constant endeavor to contribute to creating scientific and environmental concepts to keep pace with rapid global developments, working to develop environmental culture, and enhancing the capabilities of students and teachers in establishing the concept of environmental protection.
Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad highlighted the foundation’s interest in scientific research methods, devoting them to children and emphasizing the achievement of its goals to help them choose the method that suits their scientific research by organizing many events, seminars, and workshops. She stressed the need to combine global, regional, and local efforts and to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable development.
The Al-Saad Foundation for Knowledge and Scientific Research was established in Kuwait in 2009. It cares for the talented and creative people in Kuwait and the Gulf states and adopts distinguished scientific projects that contribute to the process of cultural and scientific exchange using the sound research methodology to raise the level of interest and understanding of the value of scientific study. — KUNA
