Interior Minister orders removal of violations in Failaka

KUWAIT: First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, on Saturday, ordered the removal of all encroachments on state property at Failaka Island. The order came as he went on an inspection tour to examine all violations on the island. In a statement published by the interior ministry on X, Sheikh Fahad stressed the importance of the cooperation of all concerned parties, each in their field, to uphold the law and take all legal measures against violators.

He also emphasized the need to deal firmly and immediately with encroachments on state property and apply the law to everyone without exception, stressing that no one is above the law. At the end of the tour, he thanked the efforts of all employees on the island from various ministries of state, and their dedication to carrying out the tasks entrusted to them sincerely, to preserve the country and its stability.

Sheikh Fahad was accompanied during the tour by the Director General of the General Directorate of the Coast Guard Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, the Director General of Al-Assima Governorate Security Directorate Brigadier General Suleiman Al-Jarrah, the Director General of the General Department of Relations and Security Media Brigadier Nasser Eid Bou Salib, the Supervisor of Building Conservation at the Ministry of Finance Abdullah Hamoud Abu Shaiba, and the Director of the Survey Department at Kuwait Municipality Hisham Qassem Al-Balam.

Intensify traffic control

In a separate statement on Friday, the interior minister emphasized the need to intensify the presence of traffic men in various roads and vital intersections to firmly address any violations of the law or any practices that endanger the safety of vehicle drivers and road users. The General Directorate of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior said in a statement that this came during an inspection visit conducted by Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah to the building of the Operations Department of the General Directorate of Traffic in South Sabahiya.

The Minister of Interior was briefed on the progress of work in the central control operations room and the role of traffic monitoring cameras in following up traffic on main roads and intersections, in addition to the mechanism for registering indirect violations. He also inspected the central control operations room and the Ministry of Interior’s plan to intensify security and traffic personnel and the deployment of checkpoints in various areas to enhance security control and arrest violators.
