LONDON: The Council of Arab Ambassadors in London honored on Thursday Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Bader Al-Awadhi on the occasion of the end of his tenure. Speaking to KUNA, the dean of Arab diplomatic corps and Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khalifa said the Kuwaiti envoy made big efforts to strengthen the UK-Kuwait and the UK-Arab ties. Awadhi has many contributions to the council in London through his participations in the meetings held with the British side, Khalifa said, wishing Awadhi every success in his coming duties.

Yemen’s Ambassador to the UK Yassin Noman told KUNA in a similar statement that Yemen and Kuwait have had historic relations for many years, adding that Awadhi embodied these relations over the past period. Manar Al-Dabbas, Jordan’s Ambassador in London, said Awadhi was one of the distinguished Arab ambassadors in his duties. He noted Awadhi was knowledgeable and professional in his duties, and he could gain appreciation of the council and decision-makers’ circles in the UK. Kuwait’s diplomacy has been outstanding in all fields, he affirmed.

The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Bangkok Mohamed Failakawi is also ending his term. On the occasion, Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn and his wife, Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, received Ambassador Al-Failakawi at the royal palace. During the reception on Thursday, Failakawi conveyed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the King, wishing him everlasting well-being, and further progress and prosperity for the friendly country and people of Thailand, Kuwait’s Embassy in Bangkok said in a statement received by KUNA. Failakawi was named Kuwait’s Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to Thailand in 2019. — KUNA
