KUWAIT: The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) launched the competition and exhibition ‘Loyalty to the Heroes of Darb Al-Zalag - The Slippery Trail’ at the National Kuwait Library in cooperation with the Arts Center for Art Production and Distribution under the patronage of Sheikha Hala Bader Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah and the participation of artists.

The patron of the exhibition, Sheikha Hala Al-Sabah, said on Sunday that the exhibition evokes the heroes of the series ‘Slippery Trail’, which entertained many in Kuwait and the Arab world, noting that the artists participating in the exhibition expressed their loyalty and love for the heroes of the series. She pointed out that the exhibition coincides with the anniversary of the death of the artist Abdulhussein Abdulredha, who passed away on August 11, 2017 and was distinguished by his many artistic works of plays, series, and others.

She considered that the importance of the series ‘Slippery Trail’ lies in the fact that it "preceded its time and era and merged the old with the new,” pointing out that viewers enjoy seeing this series and repeating watching it and laughing at its paragraphs every time. She expressed her admiration for the works of the exhibition of the heroes who left a mark that is still present and has become part of the history of Kuwait.

In a similar statement to KUNA, Kuwaiti sculptor Maytham Abdal said that he is participating in three sculptures, expressing his happiness to participate in the exhibition, which is one of the important forums that gives opportunity to remember the works of great artists and their role in the Kuwaiti cultural arena. The exhibition will continue until next Thursday (morning and evening) and provides the opportunity for the public to vote on the most beautiful work of art. The closing ceremony and the announcement of awards will be held on Thursday evening at the National Library of Kuwait. — KUNA
