KUWAIT: The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) announced on Sunday the distribution of school uniforms to 420 orphans and poor people. The program is sponsored by the Al-Lahib Social Welfare Center in Uganda. Ibrahim Al-Bader, deputy director general of institutional communication at the authority, said in a press statement that school uniforms were distributed to orphans in Uganda. 340 orphans, 80 students, and the children of teachers and workers in the community surrounding the center benefited from the program.

Al-Bader added that the distributions also included sportswear, winter clothes, and shoes. The authority’s efforts to empower orphans are part of its ongoing commitment to support education and provide children. He pointed to the authority’s interest in the Al-Lahib Social Welfare Center project, which is one of its main centers that plays a vital role in providing comprehensive care for orphans and poor children.

Al-Bader pointed out that the authority will continue its hard work in meeting the needs of the vulnerable and needy groups, including orphans, through various projects that are aimed at improving their lives and providing excellent educational opportunities. He expressed his deep thanks to the donors, stressing their efforts in changing the lives of many beneficiaries. — KUNA
