KUWAIT: Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital opened on Wednesday the second hybrid operating room equipped with the latest devices for interventional radiology, which allows medics to perform multiple surgeries and interventions using radiology at the same time. Consultant vascular and arterial surgeon at Jaber Hospital, Dr Ahmed Amir, said in a press statement that the integration of the radiology device and the operating room provides a safer surgical environment and reduces complications, as well as eliminating the need to transfer patients in critical cases between the radiology rooms and operating rooms to perform various interventions.

Amir added that the operations that can be performed in this room include brain surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and spine and vascular surgeries. Others include arterial catheterization, cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, laparoscopic surgery, liver, pancreas, brain surgery, cerebral catheterization, and trauma surgery. He explained that equipping the room for brain and spine surgeries in addition to arterial catheterization makes it one of the latest international technologies available for the treatment of many incurable diseases.

For his part, the head of the surgery department at Jaber Hospital, Dr Sulaiman Al-Mazidi, said in a similar statement that the opening of this new room reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing the best healthcare services and providing the latest medical technologies to patients, which strengthens the hospital’s position as one of the leading medical centers in the region.

Dr Al-Mazidi praised the role of the Minister of Health, Dr Ahmad Al-Awadi, and the Undersecretary of Ministry, Dr Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, praising their great efforts in developing the health sector and providing the latest medical technologies that contribute to providing the best healthcare services to patients. — KUNA
