KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi inaugurated the Media Museum at the Ministry’s building, which aims to shed light on the history of media in Kuwait and its development. The museum contains pictures of works that shaped the public’s memory in Kuwait and the region, the minister told KUNA on Wednesday.
"The Media Museum is a witness to a rich and distinguished media history. The inauguration comes as a culmination of ongoing efforts to document the history of media in our beloved country,” he said. The museum includes a number of devices, such as cameras and audio devices, that were used in the Ministry of Information in the past, as well as pictures of a number of immortal artistic works in the public’s memory and a number of awards won by the Ministry.
The museum also includes a distinguished collection of pictures and television and radio works that were part of the journey of the venerable Kuwait TV and Radio, in addition to old devices and equipment used by the Ministry in its early stages. He explained that the Media Museum documents the Ministry’s contribution to conveying events and information and strengthening national identity by presenting shows that shed light on the history and journey of Kuwaiti media.
He explained that the Media Museum reflects the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Information to consolidate the cultural, artistic, and media heritage with a modern and creative vision, expressing his thanks to everyone who contributed to the completion of this project. — KUNA
