Burgan Bank celebrates academic achievement of employees’ children

Confirming bank’s steadfast support of the growth and success of employees, families

KUWAIT: As part of its unwavering support for its employees and their families, Burgan Bank organized a ceremony to honor the academically outstanding children of its employees, who graduated from high school with top honors. The ceremony was held at Burgan’s Head Office in the presence of the Bank’s Executive Management, the 11 honorees, and their families, as a testament to Burgan’s steadfast support of the youth of Kuwait, beginning with the Bank’s family and extending to all circles of society.

This comes as part of the Bank’s comprehensive social responsibility program and committed strategy for adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in business and community development efforts. In his opening speech, Naqeeb Amin, General Manager - Human Resources and Development for the Group at Burgan Bank, said: “On behalf of the entire Burgan family, I would like to congratulate our young graduates on their remarkable academic achievement.”

To all young graduates, I remind them that as they transition to their new academic journey in college that brings newfound excitement and novel experiences, it is important to maintain a spirit of perseverance and dedication; no matter the challenges or obstacles. I would also like to extend my regards to all dedicated parents, starting with our valued Burgan Bank employees, whose support and encouragement remain integral to their children’s long-term success.”

Given the vital role of youths in realizing Kuwait’s vision for growth and progress, Naqeeb confirmed that Burgan Bank remains committed to crafting human capital development programs that cater to the young and aspiring professionals of Kuwait, who will build the workforce of tomorrow. He also added that Burgan’s HRD department continues to focus its energy on supporting its staff inside and outside the workplace, guaranteeing that they achieve a healthy work-life balance which allows them to perform their duties as parents in meeting their children’s needs.

The honorees, all of whom graduated from public and private schools with 90 percent or more in their field of study, whether literature, sciences or other disciplines, received valuable gifts from Burgan Bank. As part of its dynamic and encompassing social responsibility program, its committed adherence to the guiding ESG principles, and its mission to remain an employer of choice, Burgan Bank continues to provide its employees with multiple resources that enable them to grow personally and professionally.

This includes efforts such as hosting the “Burgan Talks” series and offering summer internships for aspiring undergraduate students who wish to pursue a career in banking and finance. Beyond these efforts, the Bank strives to organize different engaging events and campaigns that aim to raise awareness about vital topics (health, education, and financial literacy) among its community, and contribute to the multifaceted development of Kuwait.
