KUWAIT: The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, one of the centers of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), in coordination with the research capabilities program in the research and technology department at the institution, announced the participation of 16 Kuwaiti students from Grades 10 and 11 in the artificial intelligence camp in South Korea.
The center said in a press release that the camp, which started on Tuesday and lasts until August 10, comes in cooperation with the strategic partner - the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KISTI), which is considered one of the enrichment programs for the center and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. He added that the participation of students selected by specific scientific criteria in the camp is a good opportunity to highlight and refine their talents and to get acquainted with the latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence in the world, especially that South Korea has enormous and advanced potential in this aspect.
He explained that this step will also establish a new generation of innovators from our Kuwaiti society by providing them with advanced skills in the fields of artificial intelligence, engineering, science, and technology, among others, in addition to developing their skills in overcoming challenges, teamwork, and brainstorming. The center reaffirmed its keenness to provide all possible efforts and harness all possibilities to contribute to the development of the educational system in the country through the provision of specialized training, educational programs, workshops and camps.
The students who participated are Ajwans Al-Dahi, Ryan Buhimed, Zeina Al-Hays, Sarah Al-Awadi, Saud Al-Subaie, Salman Fadel, Abdul Latif Al-Nasser, Ali Theyab, Ali Jarak, Ghadir Akrov, Rakan Al-Dhufairi, Mohammed Jarak, Mohammed Al-Mufreh, Nasser Ali, Hala Al-Rashidi and Youssef Ali. The students are accompanied by a joint delegation from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, headed by the director of the research capacity building program at the research and technology department, Dr Abrar Al-Mousa, and the members Khaldoon Al-Harami, Nada Al-Fares, engineer Saleh Al-Duaij and Lulwa Al-Tuwaijri. — KUNA
