KUWAIT: Burgan Bank recently hosted a ceremony celebrating 18 young women who completed "Empower Her”, the Bank’s summer internship program for undergraduate students. The event took place at the Bank’s head office in the presence of Burgan’s Executive Management, female leaders, and the graduates’ families, featuring the interns’ graduation project "My Female Role Model”, and highlighting their numerous achievements throughout the three-week program.
The internship program stems from Burgan Bank’s comprehensive social responsibility program, human capital development strategy, and dedicated efforts to empower women, aiming to pave a path toward a brighter future by supporting and developing the rising professional calibers and preparing them for leadership positions that will help shape the community.

We look forward to witnessing their continued success and contributions to the society and industry.” Designed to enrich their skills after the academic knowledge by on-ground professional experience, "Empower Her” offered its participants the opportunity to experience different layers of the banking industry through one-week rotations.
In addition to visiting different branches and gaining exposure to various departments, the interns were matched with female mentors from Burgan’s suite of female leaders based on their personalities and interests, guaranteeing that empowered female leaders continue to empower future generations of aspiring women. The summer internship program also focused on introducing and honing vital soft skills necessary for succeeding in today’s workplace, such as communication skills, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and social skills.
It serves to note that Burgan is among the most achieved banks in Kuwait on the gender equality front, with women forming 45 percent of its staff.
