PARIS: Kuwait’s political leadership dedicates special concern to the youth for their crucial and effective role in building a promising future for the country, said the visiting Minister of State for Youth, Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah, on Sunday. Dr Al-Huwailah, who heads the Kuwaiti expedition to the Paris Olympics event, was speaking to Kuwait News Agency in the Kuwaiti group’s residence at the Olympic Village in the French capital.

"We shoulder a great responsibility toward the youngsters, and it is our duty to support and empower them so they can attain their aspirations and raise the Kuwait Flag aloft at international quarters under the sagacious leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah,” said Minister Al-Huwailah, also the Minister of Social, Family, and Childhood Affairs.

Minister Al-Huwailah affirmed that her department’s personnel devote special care to the junior citizens and seek to meet their needs and hopes in coordination with the other apparatuses of the state. Al-Huwailah added that her visit to the expedition’s headquarters was intended to encourage the Kuwaiti athletes and praised the efforts by the managers to accommodate the Kuwaiti champions. She also boasted of the Kuwaiti women athletes’ participation in the Olympics, hoping to see more Kuwaitis able to partake in such an international sports event. — KUNA
