The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, overlooking Dubai Creek, is an architectural marvel shaped like a rahal; a traditional wooden book rest used to hold the Quran. The seven-storey building is one of Dubai’s most ambitious cultural initiatives, aiming to create a beacon of knowledge, culture, and creativity.
Established by law in 2016 during the National Year of Reading, the library embodies the vision of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum to develop a knowledgeable society.
It actively supports Arabic literature by ensuring public access to modern and rare texts, encouraging young writers through its Arabic language publishing program. With a robust event calendar and continually expanding resources, the library serves as a cornerstone for preserving Arabic culture and heritage while fostering a vibrant community of learners. — KUNA
