KUWAIT: Kuwait judo national team arrived back in Kuwait on Friday after winning first place in juniors singles and teams, second place in the youth singles and first place of the youth teams with a total of 32 various medals from West Asia Championship that was held in Amman.
Treasurer of Judo Federation Faisal Al-Hamad said, following the reception of the delegation at Kuwait International Airport “this achievement was made because of the plan of players’ preparation and the strategy that was prepared for the national teams in order to make such results”.
Al-Hamad added that the federation looks forward for more foreign participations to ensure Kuwait’s status in the judo sport, affirming the federation’s interest in polishing the player’s talents and develop their abilities by the best coaches in the region.
He lauded the performance of the players and their fighting spirit in the name of Kuwait in international competitions.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Federation, Head of the delegation Minwer Al-Enezi said there was strong competition in singles and doubles and lauded the ideal performance by Kuwaiti players. He said this positive participation impressed participating teams and placed the name of the country among the strong teams of Asia.
He said the federation will continue development of the game to keep Kuwait flag in prominence in all regional and international events. The team collected 24 gold, two silver and six bronze.
This took place after the team took first place in the juniors singles by winning 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze, second place in the youth singles by winning 2 gold and 3 bronze, reaching a total of 14 before the number of gold medals alone reaching (18). — KUNA
