KISR launches 45th summer training

KUWAIT: The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) has launched the 45th summer training course with the participation of 152 high school students and 47 undergraduate students at its headquarters in Shuwaikh. The program will last until August 15. Mona Al-Failkawi, Director of the Manpower Development Department at the institute, said in a press release that the aim of holding such courses is to encourage the younger generation to practice scientific research.

She explained that the students participating in the course were distributed to different scientific programs, namely microbiology, healthy food for a better life, birds in our lives and their languages, a program to make what we imagine and explore the world of engineering and the world of nano-engineering, and genetic and artificial intelligence applications.

For her part, the director of the summer session, Dr Dalal Al-Baijan, stressed, according to the statement, the need for participating students to adhere to the rules and regulations that will ultimately benefit them and invest time in the optimal way. The course is being held under the auspices of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the Ministry of Education, Kuwait University, and a number of private sector companies. — KUNA
