Officials discuss new measures to facilitate fish imports

KUWAIT: The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Fish Trade Federation, Fares Bugammaz, revealed that new security, control, and logistical measures will be activated during the next phase by the concerned authorities to facilitate fish import procedures, which will directly contribute to saving time and effort spent in traditional import operations.

This came during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Directorate of the Coast Guard in the presence of representatives of the Federation, the Director General of the General Department of the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, along with the Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Faisal Al-Ansari, in addition to Meshaal Al-Sanea from the Judicial Police in the Ministry and a member of the Union, Jaber Al-Failakawi.

During the meeting, final touches were put to activate these measures, which will directly contribute to increasing the quantities of imported fish offered in the market and then reducing their prices. Bugammaz commended the Union’s efforts.
