KUWAIT: Burgan Bank recently held a press conference announcing the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with the Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC), which entails sponsoring Team Kuwait at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The partnership agreement comes as an extension of the longstanding collaboration between Burgan Bank and KOC, which has continued to evolve under the umbrella of the Bank’s dedicated comprehensive social responsibility program and its commitment to developing the sports culture in Kuwait.
“It is an honor for Burgan Bank to be the strategic partner of the Kuwait Olympic Committee and a sponsor of Kuwait’s ambitious and outstanding Olympians who will be representing our nation at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which millions of viewers from around the world will be following closely,” said Kholoud AlFeeli, Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Communication at Burgan Bank, commenting on the partnership signing.

AlFeeli further noted that Burgan Bank places the reinforcement of the sports culture in Kuwait at the top of its social responsibility priorities due to its vital importance to the overall development of Kuwait’s society. She added that the latest partnership signing is among the Bank’s unwavering efforts to enable Kuwait’s most talented athletes whose triumphs set a positive example for the youth, encouraging them to excel in sports and adopt a healthy and dynamic lifestyle.
The Kuwaiti delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympics consists of 10 athletes competing in shooting, athletics, sailing, rowing, swimming, and fencing. Among the members of Team Kuwait are several athletes whom Burgan Bank has sponsored as part of the Olympic Athlete Preparation Program as well as in numerous regional and international competitions, including Amal Al Roumi, Yaqoub Al-Youha and Ebrahim Al-Dhafeeri.
Burgan Bank’s strategic partnership with KOC follows several efforts throughout the years to engrain the sports culture in Kuwait. These include the Bank’s sponsorship of Tareq Al-Qallaf, Kuwait’s wheelchair fencing world champion, for nine consecutive years, in addition to the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, the Kuwaiti National Padel team, and the Kuwait Women’s Football League. The Bank has also sponsored several sporting events, such as the 8th edition of Flare Festival, Kuwait’s biggest fitness challenge, the 5th edition of the Women’s Football Tournament, and the 2023 final match of the Kuwait Crown Prince Cup.
