1961 -- Iraqi naval forces open fire at Kuwaiti ships transporting food supplies from Shatt AlArab to Kuwait.

1975 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues laws for joining the Vienna Convention for Consular Relations, the Arab League prerogatives treaty and the Vienna Convention on the Law for Treaties.

1981 -- Mohammad Youssef Al-Nisf dies at the age of 70. He was the first minister of social affairs and labor. He had also held several senior posts. 1980 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a law for establishing the International Islamic Charitable Organization.

2006 -- Voters head to the polls to elect members of the National Assembly in the 11th legislative term.

2013 -- The Kuwaiti fencer Youssef Al-Shaalan wins the gold medal in the Gulf tournament held in Qatar.

2013 -- Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology Abdulatif Al-Serai' wins the award for the electronic governments leadership from the Distinctive International Arab Festival Award during the award competition held in Dubai.

2014 -- The Central Bank of Kuwait launches the sixth edition of the Kuwaiti dinar with upgraded specifications.

2022 -- The Kuwaiti eye surgery doctor Khaled Al-Sabti presents his unique innovation at a convention held in Milan.

2022 -- Kuwait University declares that the assistant professor at surgery sciences of the dentistry faculty Dr. Mohammad Kamal, nose and ear consultant Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Turki have won an innovation patent from the US. — KUNA
