Kuwaiti charities distribute meat to Sudanese, Yemenis

KHARTOUM: The Kuwaiti Patients Helping Fund Society, Sudan Branch, distributed meat to 60,000 people in Sudan this year, the philanthropic association announced. This year’s sacrificial meat projects have been concluded after slaughtering 292 cows, 195 sheep, and 526 goats. The kilos of meat were distributed to more than 60,000 people in the states of Khartoum, Kassala, Al-Jazirah, and North Kordofan, Dr Mohammad Ali Hajo, the director of the programs department at the association, said in a statement to KUNA.

The sacrificial meat was distributed to people dwelling at the displaced centers, the sick and injured undergoing treatment at hospitals, medical cadres, and others. Dr Abdulmajid Fadlallah, the executive manager, told KUNA that the project has been executed every year, thanking all donors in Kuwait.

In another development, the Al-Najat Charity Association announced on Saturday the distribution of sacrificial meat to 15,000 Yemeni families as part of the campaign ‘10,000 sacrifices’ launched in coordination with associations officially accredited by the ministries of foreign affairs, namely the Yemeni charity and the Hands of Charity for Development.

Abdullah Al-Shihab, acting director general of the Al-Najat Charity Association, said that the campaign included the distribution of sacrificial meat in 10 Yemeni governorates, namely Lahj, Marib, Aden, Rima, Sanaa, Bayda, Hadhramaut, Taiz, Socotra, and Al-Mahra, explaining that about 15,000 families benefited from it.

The campaign aims to provide sacrificial meat to families. It is part of Kuwaiti humanitarian work and efforts to support poor communities and enhance the spirit of social solidarity. Through a statement issued by the association, the beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation for this generous initiative. The beneficiaries thanked Kuwait, HH the Amir, the government, and the people of Kuwait for their continuous support of the Yemeni people. — KUNA
