Zain family contributed to World Blood Donor Day

Employees, executives joined blood drive in partnership with Central Blood Bank

KUWAIT: Zain renewed its collaboration with the Central Blood Bank of Kuwait to host a special blood drive at its headquarters in Shuwaikh. The move coincided with the upcoming World Blood Donor Day, which is globally celebrated on June 14 of every year. Nearly 100 employees and executives from various departments participated in the blood drive to help save lives and bolster Kuwait’s strategic blood reserve. Additionally, participants benefited from the many health advantages gained by periodically donating blood.

Zain frequently launches initiatives and programs to support the local healthcare system, partnering with organizations like the Central Blood Bank and the Ministry of Health. The company also aims to raise awareness about the life-saving importance of blood donation.

As usual, Zain’s blood drive campaign was well-received by employees eager to donate, and the entire process was supervised and managed by the Central Blood Bank’s medical team. The company is proud of the great turnout by employees to make this initiative a success, reflecting the values of its brand: Zain: A Wonderful World.

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated around the globe on June 14 of every year. The initiative was organized for the first time in 2004 by four core international organizations: the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC); the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations (IFBDO), and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT).

The annual campaign aims to raise awareness of the need for blood and blood products, as well as the importance of having a strategic and sustainable blood reserve. The initiative also highlights the vital role donors play by thanking them for their voluntary, life-saving contributions.
