Late Amir’s award ‘an incentive to promote public health’

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s permanent representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, said on Friday that the award of the late Amir HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for research in the fields of health care for the elderly and health promotion for the year 2024 represents a positive incentive to advance sustainable development goals, promote public health, and ensure its compatibility with health priorities.

The Kuwaiti ambassador handed over the award to the winners at a meeting at the 77th session of the World Health Assembly, currently held in Geneva. He said that the award comes within the framework of supporting the elderly in our communities and in recognition of their tireless efforts, the fruitful contributions they have made to us, and their sincere work throughout their life’s journey. He stressed that the award also reflects the constructive cooperation between Kuwait and the World Health Organization, which has had its roots for more than six decades.
