Chinese Cultural Center in Kuwait, the first of its kind in the region

KUWAIT: The Chinese Cultural Center in Kuwait hosted the Chinese Cultural Experience Day, an event that aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthening the bond between Kuwait and China. The event was attended by Miao Haiyan, the wife of the Ambassador of China to Kuwait, who warmly welcomed the attendees to participate in the various activities that were designed to celebrate and share the rich cultural heritage of China.

The event underscored the center’s role as a pivotal bridge connecting the people of Kuwait and China through art and cultural activities. The Chinese Cultural Experience Day featured a diverse array of activities that highlighted the essence of Chinese culture, including Chinese language sessions, a photo exhibition, performances of Chinese songs and dances, and a sampling of traditional Chinese cuisine. A special session was organized in the dancing room, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the art of Chinese dance, thereby providing a hands-on experience of this integral aspect of Chinese culture.

On his part, the Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Kuwait, Xia Jianfeng emphasized the significance of the center’s role in promoting cultural understanding and cooperation between the two nations. “You might be aware that this center is carrying the agreements between the Chinese and Kuwaiti governments. Since we commenced operations in September last year, we have witnessed numerous cultural activities that have advanced mutual understanding between the people of Kuwait and China. This center is the first of its kind for China among GCC countries, aimed at fostering more people-to-people and cultural exchanges in the region,” he said.

The Chinese Cultural Center in Kuwait stands as a symbol of the friendship and collaboration between China and Kuwait. It serves as a bridge linking the two nations and facilitating deeper relations and cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and cultural appreciation. The Chinese Cultural Center in Kuwait continues to play a crucial role in building a strong foundation for ongoing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
