KUWAIT: The Embassy of Japan celebrated 28 years of Japanese language courses in Kuwait Wednesday. The embassy held the Ambassador’s Commendation Ceremony for the Center of Community Service and Continuing Education on May 22, 2024, at the ambassador’s residence.
In his opening remarks Ambassador of Japan to the State of Kuwait Morino Yasunari expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Center of Community Service and Continuing Education to hold Japanese language courses since 1996, in addition to the continuous cooperation between the Embassy of Japan and the center in holding the Japanese speech contest annually for the last 16 years.
During his speech, Morino Yasunari announced that the Embassy of Japan is planning to hold the Japanese Language Diwaniya "Dibaniya” regularly, starting from this summer, to provide opportunities for the Kuwaitis who are learning to speak in Japanese.
Former Kuwaiti students who studied in Japan delivered presentations to introduce their special experiences in Japan. Mishal Al-Mishaan shared his experience of studying in the University of Tokyo, completing a doctoral degree. Bader Al-Failakawi gave a presentation about his experience of studying at Himeji Dokkyo University in Hyogo prefecture and Daito Bunka University. Bader Al-Shawaf talked about his experience at Kyushu University and his stay in Kyushu region.
Many Kuwaiti students who studied in Japan and others who studied Japanese at the center attended the ceremony, as well as other esteemed guests who are interested in Japanese culture. They exchanged their opinions on how to further deepen and promote Japan-Kuwait relations in various fields.
